Synopsis

This book is a selection of Higuchi Kazuyo's works, including representative works such as "Childhood Sweethearts", "Thirteen Nights", and "New Year's Eve". Higuchi Kazuyo (1872-1896) was the first professional female writer in Japanese history. She was also a Japanese female writer printed on the front of banknotes. She has a very high national reputation in Japan. Most of Higuchi Ichiyo's works depict female characters with humble origins, difficult lives, and miserable fates. They condense women's sadness, helplessness, and anger in society into his works. People's fate is doomed prematurely. Higuchi Kazuyo wrote about the life they were about to face when they were about to become adults. This is her compassionate heart. She couldn't bear to let them suffer more, but just wrote about their bright sadness.
