The Grassroots and Youth of Liangjiadu

"The Grassroots and Youth of Liangjiadu" tells the story of an ordinary rural family in the suburbs of a certain province in the west of Jiangnan in flashback through the memories of Yang Cuoba, a professor at the Urban Agricultural College of a certain province in the south of the Yangtze River. During the difficult years from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s, they experienced hardships, forge ahead, success and failure, and intertwined love and hate. The story objectively reproduces the kindness, generosity, tenacity, tolerance, and open-minded will and life attitude of the local farmers. The story runs through the twenty years of ups and downs from the Cultural Revolution, the restoration of the college entrance examination to the reform and opening up.
