Looking at the girl called Julie in front of me, my greatest wish right now is for her to stay as far away from me as possible.
“Hey, I'm Julie. What are you doing?” She ran into the moving truck and casually picked up a box. “I'll carry this one!”
“No need,” Dad stopped her. “You should hurry home. Your mom might be looking for you.”
But the girl didn't take the hint. “It's okay. Mom knows I'm helping you move.” Then she turned to me and said, “Let's carry it together.”
“Oh, don't touch that!” Dad was clearly getting a little annoyed. He turned to me and said, “Bryce, isn't your mom waiting for you to help her?” Then he winked at me.
I immediately got the message: Dad was trying to get me to leave so he could get the girl out of there. But just as I climbed out of the truck, something eerie happened...
