Part One: Sobbing in the Rain
Before all this, college student Yang Chen had given up his studies without a second thought after an enthusiastic invitation from a JK girl, joining the so-called ghost-slaying organization, the Xuanwu Sect.
Slay ghosts? It sounded pretty exciting. Besides, he'd heard that mysterious organizations like this always made a grand entrance: black clothes, sunglasses, and fancy cars, just like secret agents. He'd always yearned for that.
But when a handsome blond guy pulled up in a beat-up old car, his secret-agent dream shattered completely.
(Wait, weren't the benefits at the Xuanwu Sect supposed to be great? How come you're driving such an ancient car, man?)
(Oh, I get it. Maybe we're going for an understated look.)
Riding in that beat-up car, he braced himself with a fearless spirit for three hundred rounds of battle against the evil ghost they were about to face...
But when they arrived, the muddy road and cold rain put an end to his fearlessness.
They stumbled through the mud in utter disarray, chasing a lonely ghost that had fled a broken home.
At last they caught up. A long blade mercilessly pierced the ghost's body. Like a dying leech, it writhed unwillingly in the muddy water, sobbing in the rain...
Now the power of life and death over this ghost was entirely in his hands. If he killed it, he could set out on the path of ghost-slaying.
But as he gripped his blade and listened to the desperate pleas of someone who refused to die, a question rose in his mind:
Should he really kill a pitiful, unrelated “person” for money?
It's pretty good. The author's writing style is very good, and the scenes he depicts are very delicate. After getting tired of reading the novel, it's good to have a change of taste. I just feel that the description of Wang He in the early stage is a bit too long, but it's okay in the later part. Anyway, it's worth reading. Come on, author.
It's very interesting to watch, the plot is novel, the characters are well drawn, and it's worth recommending
