On April 1, 20XX, a massive meteorite crashed into the center of Antarctica.
Three months later, an “X-virus” known as the “zombie virus” began spreading rapidly across the globe. The number of infected soared, surpassing ten million in less than three days and continuing to multiply at a geometric rate. The sheer, uncontrollable number of infections left everyone in a state of panic. As the number of infected grew and the affected areas expanded, the government gradually lost control of society, and unrest began to break out. The apocalypse had arrived.
Ever since his mother died three years ago, Tang Buping had been sent back to his hometown. He had been holed up in a dilapidated, ten-square-meter wooden shack near the Huangpu River. Aside from a damp, freezing bed, there was nothing else inside.
No one lived near the ramshackle hut. It stood all alone atop a small mound.
His mother’s death had hit Tang Buping hard, and every day he lived like a walking corpse.
One day, Tang Buping went out to look for food, but before he could find any, he was attacked by an ordinary zombie. He barely managed to escape back to his hut, shaken to the core.
Dear Mom in Heaven,
It’s way too dangerous outside. I think I’ll lie flat and wait to die so I can come see you! Your loving son, Tang Buping.
But as Tang Buping lay in bed, he unexpectedly awakened the “Lie Flat and Grow Strong” System.
