After Kangxi dies, Yongzheng ascends the throne. The Fourteenth Prince misunderstands Yongzheng, but the Thirteenth Prince tells him the whole truth. Once the misunderstanding is resolved, the Fourteenth Prince devotes himself to supporting Qianlong.
Back in the modern world, Ruoyue searches through historical records but can never find any information about herself. By chance, she sees a portrait of herself and weeps with joy. Kangxi had loved her after all. At the Soong Ching Ling Memorial Residence, Ruoyue reunites with Rongruo.
