Lin Bai's cousin often dropped by, and things kept getting stolen from Lin Bai's home. For the sake of family, Lin Bai chose not to look into it.
But one night, his cousin sneaked into Lin Bai's home and stole his limited-edition figurine.
His cousin refused to mend his ways, so Lin Bai used the System to buy a million-yuan solid-gold figurine, let his cousin steal it, and then called the police.
His cousin's family knelt and begged him to settle the matter, but Lin Bai, determined to see it through, flatly refused.
If every crime could be settled privately, what would we need laws for?
The cousin had entered someone else's home and used force and threats to take their property. In the end, the court convicted him of armed home invasion and robbery.
Taking things seriously is a stepping stone to a better society. The world needs people like Lin Bai, who insist on seeing things through.
