Beauty in the Palm of His Hand

[A patient, restrained new emperor bent on revenge VS a radiant noblewoman with a powerful minister for a father]

[The emperor's long road to winning back his wife]

Everyone said Xie Mingshu was merely a pawn in the struggle between the new emperor and the empress dowager.

No one knew that for Xie Mingshu, he had knelt on eighty-one flights of steps, his plain robes spattered with blood, just to pray for her to be reborn.

Reborn, Xie Mingshu resolved to escape the fate laid out for her.

But fate intervened, and she lost her memories as soon as she was reborn.

She fell in love with Wei Zhan all over again.

By a twist of fate, she regained her memories of her past life, and Wei Zhan recovered his as well.

She was determined to cut ties with Wei Zhan, that madman, and flee to the ends of the earth.

But someone schemed against her, and she fell into the abyss.

The Great Jin lost a peerless woman general, but the Yan Kingdom's palace gained an empress.

It was only when envoys came to visit that they caught a glimpse of the Yan empress's face.

She looked exactly like General Xie.

A message carried by pigeon sent Wei Zhan racing a thousand miles to pursue his wife. At last, he saw the face he had longed for day and night.

The Yan Kingdom's wedding

“Ah Shu, I've been waiting for you all along.”

Wei Zhan's voice trembled as he lifted the bride's red veil.

“How dare you, Your Majesty of Jin? This lady has never met you.”

Xie Mingshu coldly shook off his hand. Her eyes were full of distance as she stepped in front of the Yan emperor.

Wei Zhan looked utterly wounded, like a fox that had been abandoned.
