The Shadow Saint

When heaven and earth first began, Pangu joined forces with the ancient gods, gathering all their power to seal the Dark Night Emperor, a tyrant from the age of chaos. Thereafter, the Primordial Universe was divided into six great universes, each sealing away one of the Dark Night Emperor's six forces. Hongjun, Nuwa, Fuxi, Donghuang, the Netherworld Emperor, and Lu Ya were each entrusted with guarding a seal. Before this, Pangu used his essence to refine the yang force within the Dark Night Emperor's power into a living being. He entrusted the child to Hongjun with these words: “The Dark Night Emperor is not as simple as we imagined. Even with the combined might of the gods, we could only seal him in this battle; we could not destroy him completely. This child can absorb the power of the Primordial Universe. He alone holds the key to destroying the Dark Night Emperor once and for all. I trust you to guide him well. Never let evil take root in his heart, or all hope will be lost.” Pangu then transformed into a sky full of stars. Ten thousand years later, a wave of darkness swept across the First Universe, and Hongjun led the gods into battle...

Later, Ying used himself as a catalyst to tear open a passage to the Seventh Universe, then sealed the Dark Night Emperor with his essence. A trace of Ying's vital energy was subsequently reborn as a human. He steadily grew stronger until he finally destroyed the Dark Night Emperor, bringing true safety and peace to the entire universe.
