Jiang Waner, Half-Demon

Jiang Wan'er was a half-demon. While fleeing from demon hunters one day, she rescued a female rabbit demon who had only just learned to take human form. The rabbit demon followed her in silence, blinking her big, shining eyes. With no other choice, Jiang Wan'er took her along as they fled and taught her how to read people: "Among all demon hunters, those from Mount Shu are the most vile. They use fake affection to trick demons into giving them their true feelings, then take their inner cores to increase their cultivation. Remember, demon hunters are our natural enemies. Never believe a word they say!" After Jiang Wan'er finished speaking, she saw how intently the little rabbit demon was listening and felt quite pleased. This little rabbit demon was kind at heart and devoted to the Dao. One day, she would surely survive her heavenly tribulation and become an immortal. Jiang Wan'er believed this right up until that late night, when she saw the rabbit demon sitting on a hillside beneath the bright moon, stubbornly and cruelly digging out her own inner core, little by little. She heard the rabbit demon call softly, her voice hoarse and reluctant: "Sister."
