When Su Qing opened her eyes, unfamiliar memories flooded her mind. She had been reborn. Her previous life had been full of regrets, but at thirty-two, Su Qing was already considered a winner by her peers. Then her loving husband pushed her off a cliff. As she fell, resentment and regret surged through her. Perhaps Heaven had taken pity on her and given her another chance: she was reborn in the body of another woman named Su Qing. But this Su Qing was not the same as the other one. If her memories were right, the original owner was a despised country girl with a gambling addiction. She was already married, and her husband's family had gone deeply into debt to pay for the wedding. Yet she refused to better herself, spending every day gambling instead. She had no sympathy for her in-laws, who worked themselves to the bone to make ends meet, or her husband, crushed beneath the burden of daily life. This time, she had gotten into a fight with a fellow gambler over cheating and how to divide the winnings, and the other woman had smashed a chair over her head. That was what gave Su Qing the chance to be reborn. But things were rough from the start.
Well written, a novel worth listening to
