Lin Lan, ruler of the underworld, separated her divine soul to repair the seal beneath the river and imprison the spirits once more, preventing them from harming the world.
The ruler of the underworld used her divine soul as the medium for the seal, causing her body to vanish. In recognition of her service, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva made an exception to the law and placed the fragments of her shattered soul inside the red spider lily, allowing them to recover.
She must endure all the hardships of mortal life before she can be reborn through nirvana.
The red spider lily is a flower of the spirit world, and it had long since gained sentience. By the time it began nourishing the ruler of the underworld’s soul, they had already become one another’s lifeline!
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sent the red spider lily into the mortal world to endure its trials.

In the second life, Qiao Shang has no attachment to the modern world and throws herself into ancient times, where she meets Lin Lan, now an ancient princess. What will spark between them?
