This book selects three "Beijing"-themed novels from the works of the writer Xu Zechen, namely "Ah, Beijing", "Running Through Zhongguancun" and "Heaven and Earth", all of which tell the story of the living conditions of small people at the bottom of society in Beijing. They have no Beijing household registration, no formal jobs, and few proofs other than ID cards, so they often need to hide. Although these young people live a somewhat difficult life, they are full of vitality, have an everlasting passion for life, and a positive yearning for the future. Under the bustling scene of Beijing, the author shows the gloomy, turbulent, embarrassing and not without comic underworld life of this special group of "Beijing drifters". "Running" means running for survival, with goals, speed and strength; the strong and upward vitality permeated by the little characters contrasts with the tragedy of their struggle and unwillingness to sink.
