This will probably be a long review. I'm used to reading the whole book before reviewing it, and this is the first time I can't wait to review a book. This book really shocked me. I am very able to bring in Duan Yan and empathize with her because I am a bipolar type 2 patient. I am not severely affected by Duan Yan, but I am particularly good at pretending. I laughed and talked about my sad experiences, and joked with others about my unhappy things. When I smiled and said that I was in pain and wanted to end it, and when I laughed and told others that my heart rate was so fast that I couldn't breathe, no one believed it and thought that I was complaining for nothing. And one thing in the book is really true. When others are hurt or scolded, I will bring it to myself, and even feel more uncomfortable than the person involved. These will become part of my late-night thoughts. But I am quite lucky.
