Winter, 2035
As the global virus grew more virulent and spread unchecked, infected people had overrun cities across China's northwest, north, and south. Although government departments continued to hold out in some key cities and organized the military to clear them and establish safe zones, failure seemed inevitable given the situation.
Autumn, 2037
Four international safe zones had been established:
The Americas: Nevada.
Europe: Iceland.
Africa: Egypt.
Asia: China's three northern provinces.
Spring, 2040
Shanhaiguan, once the Asian safe zone's natural barrier against viral mutants, now faced a formidable challenge as living things continued to evolve. Organisms around the world were evolving through the virus, while humanity remained stagnant. Even the zombies infected by the virus outside the safe zones had evolved intelligence.
Summer, 2041
A question had arisen within all four international safe zones, one that the surviving members of humanity had to consider: Had uninfected people missed out on biological evolution, or did they retain the noble bloodline of pure humans?
Winter, 2043
It was a bitterly cold winter. The whole world seemed frozen, and everywhere was desolate apart from the warmer equatorial regions. Yet the infected outside the safe zones had learned to use tools and energy to keep warm. This shocked all of humanity. It seemed that infection was the way forward for humanity.
It was in 2034 that He Qiang's story began.
The new apocalyptic worldview has a distinct protagonist, the four safe zones and the new currency system are outstanding. I look forward to developing it in the future!
