On the construction site of the Yangtze Three Gorges Water Conservancy Project, between Woniu Peak and Lion Peak, young diver Yang Jixian discovered an ancient tomb. Excavations revealed that the owner of the tomb was Lu Qian, an astronomer who served as the magistrate of Jiangling County in his later years. He was buried in September of the second year of Emperor Yuanguang of the Han Dynasty (133 BC). A number of bamboo slips were also unearthed from this tomb, named "Xilingxia Han Tomb No. 7". Ren Sihong, an assistant researcher at the Provincial Institute of Archaeology, cleaned and interpreted these bamboo slips.

In the first year of Yuanguang reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the astronomer Lu Qian was appointed as the magistrate of Jiangling County.
On the fourth day of June, Lu Qian, his son Lu Bumao, and their classmate Deng Ke took a passenger boat from the south gate of Jiangling City to Xiling.
On the fifth night of the Lunar New Year, Lu Qian was watching the sky on a passenger ship and found a guest star in the room, which was as big as money and colorful.
On the sixth day of the lunar month, the boat arrived at Yiling Pier. Lu Qian and three others landed for the night.
A few days later, I swam to a place where I saw mountains stacked on top of each other, flying springs like snow, and green pines. Lu Bumao took out his pen and silk, and Lu Qian and Deng Ke recited poems and painted with great interest.
Lu Qian suddenly heard a sound coming from underground, so he bowed his head and listened carefully. Seeing this, Deng Ke and Lu Bumao also came to listen. The sound was like a snake walking in the grass at first, and then like a roaring thunder. Suddenly a small mound bulged from under their feet, and Lu Jin and the other three fell to the ground. The three of them got up and retreated quickly.
Lu Qian went to Xiaoqiu Mountain and took a closer look. Wisps of green smoke hissed, and streaks of red and golden light shot straight into the sky. Then, a copper ball with petals came out of the earth. The steel ball is about three feet in diameter. There are more than 800 stars on it, with golden light shining everywhere, and it looks like a muddy image. Lu Qian took a closer look and saw that there were Rigel stars on the ball.
