This book is a collaboration between two authors, one a psychologist and the other a science writer. More than 10 years ago, we began to discuss the topic of outstanding people and "deliberate practice" frequently, and 5 years ago we began to seriously write a book on this topic. During that time, the book slowly took shape in the collision of ideas between the two of us, so much so that it is now difficult for us to distinguish which part of the book's ideas came from whom. All we know is that the two of us writing this book together are a much better and completely different book than either of us could have written alone.

The real growth of a person is not how much knowledge and information he masters, but how much knowledge and information he can use, and how many skills he masters. The 10,000-hour rule does not mean that a person who invests enough time in one thing will definitely become an expert in this field. It means that while investing time, it must be targeted and methodical. It is not about clocking in every day, but concentrating and deliberately focusing. Only in this way can you truly grow.
Deliberately practice what I think are the most important points:
1. Deliberate practice has three characteristics: firstly, it has a specific purpose, secondly, the practice is challenging, and finally, there is feedback after practice.
2. Deliberately practice three methods: first, find outstanding people or mentors to understand their talents; second, carry out special training plans based on their talents; third, have a timely feedback system for plan adjustments.
3. The establishment of cognitive system (mental representation): (In the author's words, I personally feel that mental representation is more like a cognitive system.) Personally, I think the cognitive system is a combination of knowledge, memory and experience.
4. The role of cognitive system:
In terms of memory, new knowledge can be associated with old knowledge and the storage process of new knowledge can be accelerated.
In terms of learning, you can increase the probability and possibility of discovering your own mistakes. (For example, piano students can clearly point out the mistakes they have made)
In practice, you can use a good cognitive system to judge things (such as a doctor's diagnostic experience)
This book touched me very much. In the beginning, I could only do manual labor because I was uneducated. Now I understand that practice is not about simple repetition, but about having the right method. The book says that no matter your age, as long as you have goals and feedback, you can make progress by using the right methods. Although I have graduated from junior high school, I believe that I can realize my dream through deliberate practice.
"Deliberate Practice: How to Go from Novice to Master"
Key points of the article: Deliberate practice, persistence, and breakthrough.
There are specific, clearly defined goals, there is feedback, and there are challenging exercises.
This article lists various examples to prove it.
A very good book, breaking the rules and challenging yourself to the impossible. It points out that each of us has possibilities, and then proposes specific implementation methods, as well as a large number of case studies and examples.
Is genius innate?
Not bad. It enriches my inherent thinking system.
A truth proven by a large amount of data is that the so-called geniuses are actually the result of hard work and continuous improvement under the correct guidance.
A very nice book
The structure is clear, the argument is rigorous, the method is clear, the language is concise, the examples are rich, the theory is advanced, and it is a must-read book!
Like, praise, praise, praise
Deliberate practice is worth learning
Genes cannot determine your abilities, but they can affect the difficulty of acquiring them. As long as you have the right guidance and continuous practice, everyone can become what the world considers a genius.
Think about how you can improve your skills through deliberate practice
You can learn a lot from watching it
Every time I read, I get different results, maybe it depends on my age!
Study and think carefully and calmly. The author's ideas and methods are very helpful to us.
The psychological representation I understand is that you are so familiar with something that you don't need to think about it, and you can understand it in one go.
It is helpful to me, it is a very good book
Real and interesting ways
Recommended for my son to read
