I, the Ferryman, Beg the Queen of Misfortune to Show Some Restraint

Soul ferryman + ghost official + underworld + sweet romance + a whole lot of sweetness + everyday urban life + ghost-catching + single heroine + supernatural + System + witty comedy + helping ghosts for fun + feel-good wish fulfillment + crafty schemer + eclectic mix

I'm Fan Ze, an orphan from a family with no other heirs for eighteen generations. To honor a promise, I gave up a high-paying job laying bricks at a construction site and became a waiter and delivery driver at the restaurant owned by my childhood sweetheart, a lovable troublemaker who can be sweet or sassy. Of course, I also have a secret occupation: I'm a soul ferryman, a family trade passed down through generations. That's right, I'm the legendary reaper who hooks souls, the guide for the dead, one of the Black and White Impermanence, one of the Ox-Head and Horse-Face. But I still prefer it when people call me Lord Ghost Official.

Jiang Yiyi, nicknamed Chacha: "You good-for-nothing, why aren't you working hard and saving up to buy a car and a house? Where have you run off to fool around now? Watch out, or I'll chop you up with my forty-meter cleaver and feed you to Head Chef Wu."

Head Chef Wu, the Taotie: "People these days eat everything. It's too filthy; I can't stomach it. These days, I only eat souls."

Zhao Li: "..."

Ma Xiaoling, a hundred-year-old vampire zombie: "What's so womanly about a dark lolita? Stick your neck out and let big sis bite you."

Yue Qiluo, an immortal demon: "You stinking zombie, I'm proud to be a lolita. Dare to compete with me over who's smaller?"

Xia Dongqing: "Quiet, please. Brother Chiyou's coffin lid is about to blow off."

Wang Xiaoya, the Mysterious Maiden: "I'm a mighty god of war, Chang'e herself, and I can't even get a word in!"
