This book is very interesting! The author Shiono Nanao's narration is like telling a story, which allowed me to understand the Mediterranean world after the fall of Rome. I particularly hate those Saracen pirates, their barbaric behavior is simply disgusting! However, I admire the author's writing style, which makes complex historical events clear and easy to understand. It feels as relaxed and pleasant as chatting with friends. I recommend you read this book!
The language of this book is easy to understand, just like reading a novel. Additionally, the perspective is unique. Most of the books are about the Western Mediterranean or the Eastern Mediterranean. This is the first time I have seen a book about the central Mediterranean, that is, North Africa, central Italy and southern Italy, and it is worthy of appreciation.
