Huanglong Prefecture

When Fang Ji was young, his mad master taught him a lifetime's worth of martial arts. After the Wuyang Dynasty established Huanglong Prefecture, his master ordered him to go there and make a name for himself. He was to do whatever it took to become a Huanglong Guard, then go to the deepest part of the Cangzhou prison and meet someone.

Huanglong Prefecture made no distinction between right and wrong, young and old, or rank and status. Anyone suspected of disloyalty to the dynasty could be killed. Gradually, Fang Ji's blade became stained with the blood of “remnants of Tianyuan” and “traitors,” and his heart grew hard as iron.

One day, he finally entered the Cangzhou prison. The person he found there was none other than Zhang, the Great Celestial Master of Longhu Mountain, a rebel who was said to have been executed long ago. He told Fang Ji the secret behind his own betrayal of Wuyang, a dark secret that Fang Ji, now one of Huanglong Prefecture's elite, would never have wanted to learn.
