In the ancient, primordial age, humans, gods, and demons all coexisted.
Though humans were the most spiritually gifted beings under heaven, they lacked the divine power gods were born with and the formidable bodies of demons.
The human race was weak for generations, while the gods and demons took pleasure in keeping humans as livestock, treating them as food and beasts of burden.
This was a world where the strong preyed on the weak, where people were at the mercy of others!
