The Garden Mouth Breach

With a largely realistic style, this book will give readers a detailed account of the appalling June 9, 1938, Huayuankou Yellow River breach, as well as the events that followed: the blowing up of the Yellow River's first major railway bridge, the Battle of Lanfeng, the Battle of Wuhan, the victory at Wanjialing, the standoff between Chinese and Japanese forces along the New Yellow River, and the four battles of Changsha. It will bring to life national heroes such as Xue Yue, Yu Chengwan, Fang Xianjue, and Sun Tongxuan, senior Nationalist generals and many other soldiers who fought and bled on the battlefield, offering solace to the spirits of those who sacrificed their lives in the war against Japan.
