During the war between gods and demons, the ancient divine beast Phoenix clan sacrificed their entire race to bring Lord Yuchen to their aid. Lord Yuchen destroyed the Demon Lord Xuanling, finally ending the war. While surveying the battlefield, Lord Yuchen found an egg protected beneath a divine phoenix. He took the sole surviving heir of the Phoenix clan back to Yuming Palace, and that is where the story begins...
“Tao Yao, remember what I just said. When he wakes, tell him that I kept my promise to protect him while he guarded the Five Realms, but I can't keep doing so from now on. Tell him not to forget me.”
With that, Qiongyu went to the Heavenly Punishment Platform and leapt off.
