Sometimes Ice, Sometimes Snow, Always a Song

The Eight Desolations of Ghost Valley lay blanketed in snow. The endless blizzard seemed to silence all creation. In the days of howling winds and driving snow, a little girl in thin clothes struggled to keep her shivering body upright. Perhaps she was simply too exhausted to go on. She could only trudge from door to door, slowly knocking on each one. The sound of “knock, knock, knock” came and went. On this bone-chilling day, it sounded so piercing and lonely. “Please, open the door for me,” the little girl begged, knocking again and again. Perhaps the storm was simply too fierce?...

This story is mainly about the romance between an icy, handsome man from a different race and a heroine who grows up under his care, brought together by a soul flute. The story has a slow pace. If you only read the first few chapters, you might think it’s a palace or household intrigue story, but it isn’t.
