Synopsis

"The Original Meaning of the Difficult Classic" was published in 1366 and was written by Hua Shou in the Yuan Dynasty. Hua Shou, courtesy name Boren, also known as Ying Ningsheng, was a famous physician in the Yuan Dynasty. He wrote "The Development of the Fourteen Classics", "Du Su Wen Chao", "The Original Meaning of the Difficult Classic", etc. The book consists of 2 volumes. The methods of viscera pulses, meridians and acupoints, as well as pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment are all debated and verified, and the author's opinions are used as judgments. There are quite a lot of things. Compared with the Chinese Materia Medica textbooks, there are many unseen medicinal materials. This may be because Chinese Materia Medica has not fully selected them. As one of the four classics of traditional Chinese medicine, it is a must-read for all scholars of traditional Chinese medicine. The prescriptions in Treatise on Febrile Diseases and Synopsis of the Golden Chamber come from this. Reading Shennong's Materia Medica can also give you a deeper understanding of Zhongjing's prescriptions. However, classics such as the Shen Nong's Materia Medica have been scattered and lost, and the content is now just pieced together. There are many fallacies and defects. It needs to be read carefully, dialectically, and with reference to other materials. Don't be biased towards one extreme, but choose what is good.
