Irresistible

I'm a little confused as to why the female protagonist didn't tell the male protagonist after knowing that the woman that night was her. Wouldn't it be better to let the male protagonist know that the child is hers? There is no good person in the Yu family except the male protagonist's two brothers. I also want to know how the male protagonist's mother died.
