The Boy Who Basked in the Moonlight

At one, Chen Ai was born to his raggedly dressed mother in a rented room.

At six, he wanted to go to school, and his mother slapped him for the first time.

At ten, his mother brought home a younger brother who shared her mother but had a different father.

At sixteen, he met a girl who would sit with him and watch the moon.

Lin Youyou had always lived in the light, but at sixteen she resolutely stepped into Chen Ai’s glass world and stayed beside him, watching the moon for the rest of his life.
