Tales in Soft Hues: A Fresh Watercolor Painting Course

Everyone wants to preserve the beautiful moments in life. Besides taking photographs with a camera, you can also bring a fountain pen, a sketchbook, and a box of paints, and draw wherever you go, capturing colorful memories in a different way. This book is both a tutorial on watercolor painting with pen and ink and a guide to recording everyday life through art. Starting with the basics, it first addresses the tools and fundamental techniques that most watercolor enthusiasts want to know about. It then explains how to paint backgrounds and simple scenes in pen and watercolor, before walking readers through complete landscape examples and showing them how to paint from photographs. By the end, readers will have learned and mastered the techniques of creating pen-and-watercolor art. Beyond teaching painting techniques, this book also encourages an optimistic outlook and a love of beauty. It hopes to help readers discover beauty in the world around them and record their lives through pen and watercolor, wherever their journeys take them.
