At midnight, inside an old, low-rent apartment building.
Online streamer Yan Jie applies an elegant, understated layer of makeup, then raises her phone and slowly pans it around the room.
“Take a look. This is the scene of a murder. The woman who rented this place six months ago was killed and dismembered. Her body parts were scattered everywhere.”
“And the victim’s head still hasn’t been found.”
Yan Jie props her phone up on a stand on the table. A flood of comments fills the screen, and her livestream’s popularity surges. Someone sends her a rocket gift.
Yan Jie wears a faint smile, but inside she is overjoyed. Then she notices that the comments streaming by are strangely unanimous.
“There’s a figure!”
“Headless female corpse!”
A chill shoots up the back of her head. Her breathing quickens, and her eyes widen.
Viewers had often joked that there was a figure behind her, but never before had they all said the same thing.
Nearly every comment says there’s a figure.
“Come on, don’t scare me. If you keep joking, I’m ending the stream.”
Yan Jie forces a smile. Her voice is dry, as if it’s coming from far away.
“Call the police, now!”
“There really is someone behind you!”
The comments appear in unison again, covering the entire screen.
Yan Jie leaps to her feet. Before she can turn around, a damp handkerchief is clamped over her nose and mouth.
The sharp smell of chemicals hits her, and she immediately loses consciousness.
In the instant before she blacks out, she still can’t understand: the door is locked. How did someone get in?
Have a few questions! I can accept that the main character, a condemned criminal, has committed a crime and performed meritorious service, but why should he be allowed to move freely while wearing electronic shackles? Could this allow him to kill someone so that he could be convicted? 😅 As for the bloody face, the electronic shackles have a positioning track, and the error is only a few meters. Can you record the location of the protagonist's shackles? He said he was sleeping, but is it okay to have movement tracks?
Well written and very beautiful.
It seems ok so far
I've read Chapter 21, and I feel it's okay despite some minor bugs. Maybe it's because the one I just read was too intellectual, so this one seems okay.
It's great to go up there
