Rise from Humble Beginnings

When I open my eyes, I find that I have transmigrated to Shanghe Village, a small mountain village in the Great Xia Dynasty. I have a lovely wife, but a severe drought and famine have left my family so poor we're almost starving. But it doesn't matter. Those nine years of compulsory education weren't for nothing. The candied fruit skewers I make sell all across the country. The poems and songs I write are recited by scholars everywhere. The village militia I train can each take on ten men. And now, in this time of turmoil, watch me rise from humble beginnings and claim the realm!
