Synopsis
"Writing for High Scores in Postgraduate Entrance Examination English" has been one of the classic preparation books on the postgraduate entrance examination book list for many years. The author is "Taoist Master" Wang Jiangtao, a meritorious teacher of New Oriental Postgraduate Entrance Examination English. This book has gone through 14 revisions, keeping pace with the times and constantly improving. It is deeply recognized and loved by the majority of postgraduate entrance examination students. The latest edition includes the 2018 postgraduate entrance examination English (1) (2) writing test questions. Based on the 2018 edition, the new edition has made the following revisions based on the latest syllabus and examination trends: According to the curriculum of New Oriental Online and Beijing New Oriental School, as well as the study order of candidates, the new version of the book has made the largest revision in the 14 years since its publication, and has completely adjusted the structure of the book. In the past, the whole book was divided into four chapters according to the types of writing questions: General Introduction to Postgraduate Entrance Examination English Writing, Practical Essays, Picture Essays, and Chart Essays. Some readers did not understand the study order and focus of this book. This year, the book is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1: Guidance, a supporting teaching material for the 2019 postgraduate entrance examination class guidance course of New Oriental Online and Beijing New Oriental School, focusing on guiding candidates on how to plan the whole process and review efficiently. Chapter 2, Basics, is a supporting teaching material for the basic writing class course of New Oriental Online and Beijing New Oriental School's 2019 postgraduate entrance examination class, focusing on the use of words and sentences to lay a solid foundation. Chapter 3: Intensification, the supporting teaching materials for the writing intensive class courses of New Oriental Online and Beijing New Oriental School's 2019 postgraduate entrance examination class, focusing on planning the layout and strengthening improvement. Chapter 4: Sprint, the supporting teaching materials for the writing sprint class of the 2019 postgraduate entrance examination class of New Oriental Online and Beijing New Oriental School, focusing on pre-exam predictions and sprint highlights. Chapter 5, the improvement chapter, adds 20 key postgraduate entrance examination essays that are less important than the must-memorize essays. In line with the principle of highlighting the key points, the new version has deleted 20 less important writing essays in the old version, including 10 practical essays and 10 picture essays. At the same time, 2018 English (I) and (II) major and minor essay writing essays and proposition analysis, classic examples and reference translations are added. This book comprehensively covers all essay question types that may be tested in the 2019 Postgraduate Entrance Examination English (I) and English (II) as well as classic sample essays, proposition analysis and reference translations of 113 key topics. The book provides 52 real test questions, 61 predicted essays, covering 43 classic examples of practical writing in Section A, including 35 letters, 6 notices, and 2 memoranda/reports; and 70 classic examples of writing in Section B, including 40 picture essays and 30 chart essays.
This book is really good! I particularly like its content structure, which feels very clear, especially it is divided into five chapters: introduction, foundation, strengthening, sprint and improvement, which allows me to study in a more targeted manner. The sample essays provided in the book are also comprehensive, covering a variety of question types and topics. However, I don't really like the plots of some of the essays, they feel a bit cliche. But in general, this book is very helpful for postgraduate English writing, recommended!
