Chu Yilu sounds like someone who marches to the beat of her own drum, but the truth is quite the opposite. She is thoroughly ordinary and has lived a life worthy of a comedian.
In middle school, Chu Yilu met Tan Xiaojian, a boy who seemed to have a halo around him, and fell hopelessly in love. He was gentle, handsome, smart, and a wonderful singer... She counted all of Tan Xiaojian’s virtues in her heart, convinced he rivaled the most perfect person in the world. If only she could stay by his side a little longer.
But things didn’t go as she wished. One transfer to a different school drove a chasm between her and the god she secretly loved, and Tan Xiaojian became the crack in her otherwise comedic life. Four years later, when she heard from a relative that Tan Xiaojian had failed the college entrance exam and planned to retake it, her jaw nearly hit the floor. So even the favored child of heaven had his share of setbacks.
After a hectic freshman year, Chu Yilu became the head of a club in her sophomore year. During the club’s recruitment drive, she saw the face she had yearned for day and night. She had never dreamed Tan Xiaojian would become her junior. “If you invite me, Senior, I might consider joining,” he said to Chu Yilu with a teasing smile as she recruited new members. She naturally became Tan Xiaojian’s club president. They say proximity gives you the advantage... and so began Chu Yilu’s disastrous pursuit of the man she loved.
