I'm an NPC in an Escape Game

At two in the morning, people sitting in front of computer screens around the world received a strange link inviting them to play a game. The entire pop-up was framed in black and red, with a single line of white text in the middle: “Your desires have been detected. Congratulations! You have been selected for a place in the game’s closed beta. Click Confirm to enter the game!”

It was a strange pop-up. There was no option to decline, and no close button in the top-right corner.

Curses rang out across the world.

“What is this thing? Did my computer get a virus?”

“Damn, this piece of junk won’t even close!”

At that moment, Su Xing glanced at the pop-up covering his computer desktop design. He instinctively pushed up his glasses. After confirming that he couldn’t close the thing, he clicked Confirm without changing expression, then went right back to working late into the night.
