[Sword cultivation + traditional xuanhuan + genius + single heroine + foreshadowing + slow burn + humans, demons, monsters, and ghosts + conflict among the Three Teachings]
When Pangu split heaven and earth, the world divided into two. The sun, moon, and stars each followed their own courses; the seasons changed in turn, repeating in an endless cycle; and mountains and rivers took their places in due order. Fuxi created the gods, Nuwa created humanity, and Shennong created the beasts. They spread throughout the world, where all living things shared a single realm, blessed with lifespans as long as heaven itself and limitless fortune. They knew neither the suffering of old age and illness nor the cycle of life and death. For countless ages, nothing changed.
Later, the divine race drew upon Pangu's power and grew stronger, soaring upward to establish a realm of its own: the God Realm. Plants, trees, birds, and beasts cultivated themselves into demons; mortals cultivated themselves into immortals, while those who defied the righteous path became devils. With its unmatched divine power, the God Realm then created another world, the Netherworld, and established the laws governing life and death, reincarnation, and karma. Each being enjoyed its allotted lifespan and fortune; when its time ran out, it died and became a ghost. Thus came the Six Realms. Beyond them lay countless extraordinary worlds and alien dimensions, scattered like stars: some, like the Five Elements Spirit Realm, had already appeared, while others remained mysterious and undiscovered.
From the Four Realms above to the Nine Kingdoms below, strife never ceased and war raged year after year, leaving the common people in misery. When will the struggle for dominion between humans and demons end? Can the devils' ambition to unite the realms of devils, humans, demons, and ghosts, bringing all four into harmony, ever be realized? What role will the lofty God Realm play in the conflicts between races? Amid internal strife and external threats, can the Three Teachings of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism put aside their differences and unite against their common foe? In this age of chaos, who will answer Heaven's call and rescue the people from their dire plight?
Li Xiyan was born on a small island southeast of Mount Buzhou. He studied literature and cultivated the Dao under his father's guidance from a young age, gifted and carefree, until the year he turned nine...
