The Israel Lobby and U. S. Foreign Policy

Michael Massin wrote an article in the New York Review of Books and pointed out: "Since Foreign Affairs magazine published Samuel Huntington's "The Clash of Civilizations" in 1993, no academic article has been as influential as this one." This article is "The Israel Lobby" published by Mearsheimer and Walter in the "London Review of Books" in March 2006. It examines one of America's most taboo issues: the influence of the Israel lobby on U. S. Foreign policy. Mearsheimer and Walter then delved into and expanded on the arguments in the article to write this book. In the book, they describe the staggering levels of material and diplomatic support the United States provides to Israel, and that this support cannot be entirely explained in strategic or moral terms. What impact has the Israel lobby had on U. S. Foreign policy? Is this in the national interest of the United States? The author believes that this special relationship is largely due to the political influence of individuals or organizations who actively guide U. S.
