A master schemer and a puzzle-solving expert, locked in a love-hate battle

Yu Song grew up in Linhai. When she was seven, a visitor traveled all the way from Longcheng to her home. The boy, Ji Qingyuan, became her best childhood friend and awakened her first innocent crush. Nearly ten years after they parted, she finally got into graduate school at Longcheng University, hoping to reunite with Qingyuan, who now taught there. After a few twists and turns, Yu Song got her wish and met him again, but her grandfather's diary also led her to uncover a century-old secret in Longcheng, as well as Qingyuan's hidden identity.

As Yu Song gradually realizes that love conflicts with her convictions, she meets a young man whose face looks remarkably like Qingyuan's: Zheng Junyi. At school, the three are at once teacher and students, rivals and enemies. They pursue their unspoken feelings in secret around the academy while fiercely competing in their academic careers. Beneath every meeting lurk undercurrents, and every conversation feels like a war fought without gunfire.

Though her feelings are tangled in every direction, Yu Song grows more determined with every setback in her field. Following the clues her grandfather left behind, and with help from her roommates, she accidentally solves the mystery of Longcheng from a century ago, and lifts the crushing burden from the person she loves...

As time passes, Yu Song discovers that the deep affection and stubborn devotion she felt as a girl have become a distant, ethereal longing. And she, like the wind passing through the leaves, will be free and untroubled.
