No stories like the one where the protagonist fools Cao Cao’s quartermaster about the provisions from the start, or those where a literati protagonist suddenly has the strength of a tyrant. Historical Novels with Literary Merit and Beautiful Prose
I’d like historical fiction, or literary fiction if you like, with good writing. Anything but brainless wish-fulfillment novels, and please give it a decent moral compass.

It feels a bit like "Those Things in the Ming Dynasty", both telling history in a relaxed and humorous way. Moreover, the author is very imaginative. For example, he compared Tang Xuanzong to the CEO of one of the world's top 10 companies, which is very vivid. I think this book is very suitable for people like me who are interested in history but don't want to read a history book that is too boring.
Excellent 👍 This is the first time I have read such a good online article!
I persisted and read it to the end. It was well written.
