By now, the demon photographers have reached their fourth generation.
I'm Pu Gongying. The moment I stepped beyond the walls, I took on the responsibility of being the fourth-generation heir of the Pu family. The outside world calls this secluded little town the Walled City. In the distant age of myth, it had another name: Yuanjiao. On the train, I photographed the first demon outside the walls, a Keyboard Demon. Born from technological progress, Keyboard Demons are drawn to people devoted to technological revolutions and diligently record every line of code they type. But today's Keyboard Demons are useless at everything except insulting people.
"Don't take pictures!" A tall, burly man took my camera. Apparently, he'd mistaken me for a paparazzo.
I spread my hands. "I didn't take any. Check for yourself if you don't believe me."
He scrutinized my photos. Sure enough, there was no sign of the slender, fair-skinned beauty who was the famous star standing right in front of us.
She took off her sunglasses. "Want an autograph?" The crowd around us started getting excited. This beautiful woman must be a rising star.
"Not at the moment. Here's my business card. Call me if you need anything." I took back my camera and slipped my homemade card into her hand.
After taking a motorcycle taxi to my destination, I looked at the little shop in front of me and called my grandfather. "Grandpa, are you sure the legendary National Mirror Bureau is here?"
Beyond the walls, the Bright Mirror hangs high. When three people walk together, one of them is bound to be a genius.
