Everyone Knows the Empress Is a Chef

Meng Sui'an is the only daughter of the owner of a restaurant in a small border town. Her family isn't wealthy, but her parents adore her. With the family business keeping her busy, she has no other hobbies and likes to spend her days at home experimenting with all kinds of delicious food. One day, she finds a man covered in blood by a mountain road. He's so handsome that, despite the smell of blood, Meng Sui'an quietly sneaks him home and takes good care of him, making sure he has plenty to eat and drink. Years later, by West Lake, Sui'an thinks back on those days and muses that she should have left him to die... Ji Chen shoots her a warning glare. “Meng Sui'an, what are you thinking about now that you shouldn't be?” This is more or less the story of a sharp-tongued yet sweet little chef and a sardonic, clingy old emperor.

Ji Chen: “Who are you calling old? Drag her out and behead her!”
