Li Yi was the eldest prince of the Tianwu Dynasty in the Divine Realm. After the dynasty was destroyed by the Slaughter God Emperor, he endured humiliation and cultivated until he reached the God Emperor realm. He then challenged the Slaughter God Emperor, but lost his life in defeat. Before the battle, however, he had made preparations: he split off a fragment of his soul and entrusted it to his servant, Li Changlin. After Li Yi's defeat, the servant used heavenly treasures to nurture a new body, took all the dynasty's treasures with him, exhausted his strength to break through the boundary between worlds, and fled to the mortal realm.
After fleeing to the mortal realm, the servant was reduced to a mere fragment of his soul by the spatial turbulence and became the spirit of the Sky-Piercing Tower. When he saw that Li Yi had been resurrected with his memories gone, he remembered how his master had spent his previous life consumed by the pain of a blood feud. He didn't tell Li Yi about his past, hoping only that he would live out his days in freedom and peace.
