On February 18, 2022, the app “Shanhai Card Collection” went live.

The app, called “Shanhai Card Collection,” was automatically installed on phones around the world. All at once, forums were abuzz with talk of the app that had appeared like a virus and couldn’t be deleted.

The leaders of various countries assumed another nation had released the virus. Before they could issue any warnings about the software, some curious netizens opened it and followed its instructions to take out antiques from their homes to activate it.

On the app’s third day online, people began disappearing for no apparent reason, and the entire Earth was plunged into ancient times. Primeval beasts and ghosts from legend appeared all over the planet. Only those holding antiques were protected from being eaten by monsters and ghosts.

But... the app’s purpose was to collect cards. Even with the protection of an antique, people could only stay safe for so long. The only way to avoid attacks from the ghosts and monsters in the real world was to enter the app’s dungeons and obtain Shanhai Cards.
