Today, We Part

[Love and hate tangled together in an age of decline and chaos] + [A childhood sweetheart can’t compete with the one who arrives later] + [The heroine’s growth]

Alone, she ventures into the Jin Dynasty. Once timid and hesitant, this modern office worker is reborn into the declining Zhao family, wealthy merchants in the capital. Just then, the dynasty falls and the times descend into chaos. The Zhao family, whose fortunes depended on serving the imperial court, collapses completely.

Her childhood sweetheart, with whom she studied and grew up, turns out to be the very person who brought ruin upon her family.

“You must learn to keep a blade in your heart even when your hands are empty. Zhu Xinglin, go out and crush them all!”

She never imagined those words would one day be directed at her. The new emperor’s enthronement ceremony is stained red with blood, and the childhood marriage contract they made, and the love they shared, are both left unfinished amid the turmoil of this chaotic age.

Who can she truly trust?

In the end, she realizes that only she can make it through this dreamlike nightmare... In this chaotic age, she vows to forge her own path. After all, fate has given her a chance to start over. Why not make the most of it?

But the people she must meet and the farewells she must face are things she cannot change...

We part today, but where will we meet again?
