A Gentle Breeze Skims the Isles

[Saving each other]

[Flirting back and forth, intense push and pull, an ambiguous relationship, and a heroine consumed by hatred.]

In a dim alley, Shen Qingran does a good deed, thinking she has saved a handsome, aloof young man from being bullied.

That day, after Lin Yizhou walked Shen Qingran home, he returned to where the thugs had been. He gave a cold laugh. “Too bad you got away. I’ll teach you a lesson next time.”

“Hey, Zhouzhou, why don’t you like me a little?” The girl’s upturned lips curled into an ambiguous smile. Half teasing, half testing him in earnest, she asked. At the time, he didn’t answer.

Later, he said, “Shen Qingran, welcome to my world.”

Years later, he is a promising young captain of the criminal police, while she has spent years undercover among the enemy.

That day, he held a blood-soaked Shen Qingran in his arms and cried until he lost his voice...

“It was clearly not me who met with disaster, and yet, in every way, it was me.”
