The Thousand-Faced Beauty

A person's pulse is like their face. A skilled physician can read from the pulse what illnesses a person suffers from now and has suffered in the past, identifying them by their pulse. The story begins with Qiu Ling'er's mysterious identity, following princes and noblewomen as they wield power at court, roam the martial world, and uncover the truth about their origins. From the imperial palace to the martial world, Qiu Ling'er searches for her past while honing her skills and growing stronger on her own. In the palace, she is a beloved consort; in the martial world, she is the master of Xuanji Palace, an expert in crafting mechanisms. With two faces and multiple identities, she finds herself caught in a tangled romance with Cong Xu and Nangong Qin as the truth gradually comes to light, and is drawn into political conflicts between two kingdoms, facing danger at every turn and narrowly escaping death. Qiu Ling'er keeps “disappearing,” but Cong Xu can always find her by reading her pulse. In the end, after their many tangled grievances, Qiu Ling'er finds purpose and meaning in life with the help of Cong Xu and Nangong Qin, yet leaves both men with regrets.
