Surviving by the Skin of My Teeth After the Apocalypse

The sun underwent a mutation, its light turning purple, and Earth’s weather became wildly abnormal. Two neighboring cities faced utterly different extremes: one sweltered under a blazing 50-degree sun, while the other froze at minus 30 degrees. Ninety percent of Earth’s population died in natural disasters. Food and medicine were scarce. As you’d expect, war broke out, and the survivors slaughtered one another. Then biological warfare began, and those who had died in the disasters came back to life. They gnawed on the flesh of the living and feared neither scorching heat nor bitter cold. Even when blasted to pieces by guns and cannons, their disgusting, corrosive blood left the ground they trampled barren and lifeless. Now, fewer than a thousand humans remain alive on Earth.
