Unspoken Xuan

After the seats were rearranged, Shen Ruoxuan and Lin Yan became deskmates. Shen Ruoxuan was delighted with her new seatmate. He never got annoyed by how many questions she asked, and patiently helped her organize the key points and difficult topics from her weaker subjects’ exams.

Shen Ruoxuan was sure Lin Yan loved studying just as much, so she made a habit of keeping an eye on his weaker subjects, too. She even put together a study plan for him. She thought they made the perfect study partners, until the day at her cousin’s house.

“You’re always either preparing to explain problems to my little cousin or looking for question types she still doesn’t understand. Don’t tell me you like her?”

Lin Yan: “I do. You’re only figuring that out now?”

Shen Ruoxuan: I thought you were my study partner, but you’ve been thinking about how to become my boyfriend?

Years later, Shen Ruoxuan found a diary from Lin Yan’s high school days while looking through things at home:

I saw the girl who paid my bus fare for me today, but she doesn’t seem to remember me. 2017.9.1

She lives near my house. What a coincidence. 9.11

She seems to like cats. What is she listening to in her headphones? 9.20

We became deskmates. I’m so happy. 2018.4.3
