The emperor has a soft heart, the harem is small, and my best friend is wonderful. Do I really need to fight for his favor?
No melodrama, no misunderstandings designed to break your heart. When they make up, they make up for good.
Not perfect, and not an ideal fairy tale, but still warm and full of everyday comforts.
Nothing complicated or dark, just sweet little moments and the occasional minor spat.
“What’s your name?”
“This concubine is Chang Hua. Hua as in ‘poetry and picturesque beauty.’”
“Oh?” Yu Ze raised an eyebrow. “With a name like that, are you good at painting?”
Chang Hua thought to herself: Parents choose their children’s names. If your name meant you were good at something, then I’d have to be called Chang All-Rounder.
She laughed, counting on her fingers. “Your Majesty has said that I look good in any outfit, that every hairstyle suits me, and that I always smell nice.” She shot him a sidelong glance. “Is there anything about me you don’t like?”
Yu Ze thought about it very seriously. “Not really. I like pretty much everything.”
A sweet romance dressed up as a palace-intrigue story, with two people who understand and choose each other. Read at your leisure, with no tears required!
I quite like it, but the heroine is a bit sentimental and sensitive. Maybe she feels insecure, but fortunately she is also growing up. So far it's pretty good, but I feel like the heroine still has to have a child, otherwise no matter how high her position is, the emperor's love alone won't be reliable. I never thought that the heroine might be infertile... I look forward to the follow-up.
