Little did they know that they would write one of the most patched books in the world. Little did they know when writing the book that it would lead to some book signings that would seem bizarre even by their broad standards. Or when you go on a talk show, you have to talk about humorous literature for more than ten seconds in between the news bulletins about the hostage situation at the local Burger King. Or an interview with a New York radio host who didn't do any homework and didn't even know that "Good Omens" was, in their lingo, a "work of fiction." Of course, they didn't expect that a public radio station's chief protocol officer would warn them not to use swear words before the program, "because it's common for you British people to say bad words."
