What a Nightmare! I've Become the Evil Female Lead's Daughter-in-Law

In the modern world, Jin Ruixin is a low-key landlady. A real estate agent lets slip a careless remark, making her the target of all her tenants over a rent increase.

Who knows who used a sandalwood tea tray from her shop to smash her into transmigrating?

That one blow sends her to a cave dwelling on the Loess Plateau.

She opens her eyes to a sea of mourning clothes, surrounded by crying and cursing.

Before she can figure out what's going on, someone shoves a swaddled baby into her arms and sends her to live in a livestock cave.

Jin Ruixin grew up in luxury. How could she put up with this? She fights back at once, only to be brutally suppressed.

After this failure, she understands that the era she is in is worlds apart from the one she grew up in. Many ideas she considers right are seen as immoral and an affront to the natural order here.

To win freedom for herself and her daughter, she begins a battle of wits with her wicked mother-in-law, pretending to go along with her while secretly resisting.

Along the way, she realizes she has transmigrated into a book.

Her mother-in-law is the book’s wicked supporting character, and her current life is not her final fate. To avoid being dragged into the reckoning when others come seeking revenge, Jin Ruixin has to hurry up and leave the cave dwelling.

Fortunately, her modern-day shop has come along with her. With its help and the support of a kind sister-in-law, she manages to leave the cave dwelling and start an independent life with her daughter.

From there, she works her way up, going from a cliffside village with just two cave dwellings to owning a cave dwelling of her own. Then, for her daughter's health, she heads to the capital to build her business and becomes a generation-defining businesswoman.
