In the twenty-third year of the Republic of China, an undercurrent surged in a small northern town ruled by warlords. Mechanical craftsman Zhang Tian and gear reformer Wu Lan were entrusted by the mysterious man in black to sneak into the nine-story bronze tower to solve the mystery of the "oil curse".
